The essay focuses on the landmark Constitutional Court judgment on the differentiated autonomy of the regions with ordinary statutes. The Constitutional Court's decision is an important contribution to clarifying the interpretation of a poorly written and in many respects obscure constitutional provision. However, it does not completely dispel the strong perplexities that remain in the face of the realisation of regional differentiated autonomy in a situation of serious non-implementation of some fundamental aspects of the constitutional design of regional autonomy.
