Comment

The aim of the act is to put in place the necessary legal measures applicable in case Great Britain and Northern Ireland leave the European Union without an agreement (a “no deal Brexit”). Most notably the act amends

-       social security related acts, implementing regulation (EC) No 883/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the coordination of social security systems and Regulation (EC) No 987/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009 laying down the procedure for implementing Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 on the coordination of social security systems and

-       residence and freedom of movement related acts, in connection with Council Directive 2003/109/EC of 25 November 2003 concerning the status of third-country nationals who are long-term residents.
